I wasn't in the best mood when I watched it so maybe that affected my interpretation of it, however I thought this movie was fine but by no means a best picture winner >90% on Rotten Tomatoes type of movie.
The acting was obviously top tier, there were some funny scenes, and the filming was well done from a technical standpoint.…

Classic example of A24 being the most hit or miss movie studio out there, a completely mid "thriller" pretending to be something with more substance than it actually is.
This movie was really simple. Just Hugh Grant bashing religion the whole time, creating the guise that this movie is somehow a commentary on organized religions when in reality its just pointlessly…
Easily his most convoluted and wtf movie yet. Every shot was too much, way to perfect and is his typical style times ten. Wes Anderson has been relying on his movies being cute and pretty way too much, and has lost sight of what made his movies great (the characters and the stories). Couldn’t even tell you what this movie was about, it was not compelling and had no meaning. It also wasn’t even funny in the quirky way that all his classics are.
