As far as war docs go this is not masterpiece- I think the aim was to have the footage and interactions speak for themselves. Technically speaking it’s shallow and presents minimal commentary on the war itself (excepting comments by medical staff who seem to question the political/larger purpose of the war) as though it’s afraid to make too much of a stand. The gore is shocking, effective but not unexpected. Compared to something like 20 Days in Mariupol it feels light on substance.
