Good shit! Some lulls in there and some editing choices felt purely out of “how the hell do we cover this” but Dev Patel makes it work in front of and behind the camera. A performance that has a different flair than the usual mission impossible or John Wick action approach. Clearly a real labor of love,

Love Streams 1984
I always had a soft spot for this as Cassavetes last true film, seeing him at his best with Rowlands, and the surrealist elements that are a departure from a lot of His work.

Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion 1997
After 26 episodes and a whole lot of hype, my expectations were sky-high and somehow completely blown away. One of the more rewarding and gut-wrenching film experiences I’ve had in a very long time. Isle of Dogs 2018
Despite well crafted and technically impressive stop motion, this canine driven adventure is more emotional bark than bite. Anderson is best when his visual precision collides with somewhat capricious and brash leads that bring chaos into the charming worlds he crafts. The dogs are all unique and lovable, but for the most part are not given enough to do besides move from point A to Point B. However, the interactions between Chief and Atari are quite charming, and along with the great animation, help make this film a solid outing from Anderson.
