A surprisingly good look back at 90s “too cool to care” cynicism and suburban disillusionment. I can’t think of any better parallel to Thoreau’s Walden as a nihilist living in a tent in his mom’s garage.

Distasteful in such a way that half the time it’s perfection and half the time it misses the mark. A lot of movies depict violence against women without care or thoughtfulness and this is one of them. I’d describe this movie as a lot of highs and a lot of lows but worth watching and visually delightful with great dialogue.

I don’t feel it adds much to the discussion on ageism and sexism in society but those themes are more of a backdrop to a wild body horror movie that commits completely to its premise.
Very fun and disturbing and the ending made up for a slow start where the themes and setup were a bit heavy handed.
I can now appreciate though that this is not meant to be a subtle, thought provoking movie with deep commentary— and it was a hell of a lot more fun because of it. Dennis Quaid was unhinged in the best way.Translated from by
