The Seed of the Sacred Fig 2024
After watching the film, I found myself deeply immersed in researching the social unrest that erupted following the tragic and brutal death of Mahsa Amini. Gaining a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural context behind the story added significant weight and resonance to the film’s narrative. On a personal note, I felt that the second half of the movie could easily stand on its own as a powerful, self-contained story. While the first half took its time to set the stage, the pacing felt slightly prolonged, but this became forgivable once the story reached its midpoint.
