This is a trap. Do not fall for it; some will say no work is to be abandoned and that’s what I told myself as I held on until the end—I don’t know what I thought was going to happen, this got more and more idiotic and each time I thought “ok but that’s the worst of it, surely” it got even stupider.
Going by the box office results one thing’s for sure: Josh Hartnett is still the millennial girl’s heartthrob.
If this film had a TW (rape) I did not see it, and I’m annoyed. Anyway, TW — not just for the gratuitous shittiness (violence, rape, etc) but also general filmmaking shittiness. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
This film is—without even looking at what people are saying about it—exactly as bad as you’d expect. I didn’t expect to give it more than 1.5 stars out of five. What I didn’t know was that those 1.5 stars were 100% going to come from looking at Dakota Johnson (❤️).
Pretty terrible movie all in all, but if you have nothing better to do and want to laugh a bit at how cheesy it is (particularly towards the end), go.
