Tenebrae commits itself to being an exercise in misdirection. It opens with Peter Neal riding a bike through San Francisco, but he swaps it for at the airport for his baggage that's been driven there by his chauffeur. He starts off in a tracksuit but changes into a sports coat. Later, when his assistant Anne leaves the apartment in Rome the camera pans to a very shiny and pointy metal sculpture that then has no further part in the story.…
