lily rose depp carries this movie, her acting was impeccable. other than this, it was easy to understand the story and a good adaptation from the original. however, for me, it was extremely slow and a lot of scenes could have been cut short. i don’t think eggers is in his prime at the moment. a lot of the movie reminded me of bram stoker’s dracula rather than nosferatu. i also wasn’t fond of count orlok’s caharcter design, that moustache and hair didn’t feel very nosferatu but oh well.
Kubrick nailed the imagery of colonialism in the east.
