A whirlwind of lust, lights, parties, private jets, and witty conversations devolves into an attempt to cling to a dream as it slips away in the face of harsh realities. A surprisingly sad film; Ani absolutely did not deserve to be treated the way she was. I liked the camerawork and colour palettes. I’m still thinking about that minute-long scene right after they got married—so, so, so pretty. There were a few scenes I felt were just a touch too long or a bit thin, but overall, I’m glad I watched Anora in cinemas, and thought Mikey Madison’s acting was outstanding throughout.
