Done so precisely and effectively that even a cup of water and a lighter are the most terrifying things. What starts off as a seemingly straightforward detective movie turns into a deeply psychological examination of the sinister within everybody. A masterful portrayal of what happens when you get too close to evil that sent actual chills down my spine during those empty, creeping, dark, and void moments. One star for Anne Hathaway, one star for Nicholas Galitzine. Zero additional stars for how boring this was.
