I guess this isn’t terrible but I don’t get the hype and I think this lacks depth and doesn’t have any overarching message. I can totally get behind a movie that’s just for the vibes but it’s so palpably ~trying to say something~ that I can’t ignore how little it actually says.
The titular character is woefully under-examined and has continuously changing and competing motivations. A disservice to Mikey who does make the character as compelling as possible.
I don’t think this strikes the right balance of drama and comedy, either.
It’s insane for this to win best screenplay.

I mean…. Steven is just fully in his Black Bag with this!! I can’t tell and won’t be able to tell who is hotter: Michael Fassbender or Cate Blanchett. A truly mammoth bisexual dilemma/dream of a film.
Perfect pacing that had me constantly enthralled. I think this would’ve been perfect if the score was more elevated.
