The best examples of satire are those that go unrecognized by most viewers.

I think many people enjoyed the film as a centrist message that takes jabs at both sides of the political spectrum. While that was a running theme, I think more than anything the rich were the enemy the whole time. Like yes, they are conveying the message “we aren’t really all that different” but it was among the working class, not between the lower and upper class.…

I didn’t know exactly what to expect from this film, but it definitely wasn’t such a profound and layered story about family, masculinity, pride, loyalty, control, etc etc. The Von Erich family experienced such horrible tragedy and in the end the surviving brother was able to hold on to what was most important to him- the love he has for his family.

Full of fun and camp with plenty of references for the die hard beetlejuice fans. Some of the storylines were a little unnecessary but we’re still a fun addition. Thought the movie could benefit from some unique cinematography to give it a less “HD” feel. Absolutely loved the storyline of the father.

    Joker: Folie à Deux

    ★★

This movie was a lot of okay elements that added up to nothing. Acting from the main characters was relatively good, cinematography wasn’t bad but nothing amazing, and the musical scenes did bring a bit of a camp element. None of these elements were strong enough to save the movie though as the writing was just boring. Pretty much nothing happened and there was no real direction in its message. Very unclear whether the writers were trying to make the joker out to be a victim or not.

Overall wasted potential from what sounded like a cool concept and talented actors.
