Godzilla 2000: Millennium 1999
I always have a good time watching this, the villains design is one of my favorites. But objectively it feels more like a side slice-of-life sorta movie rather than the rampaging monster mayhem you’d expect from Godzilla.

Aliens 1986
I think this film could have been combined with the plot of the first, and just trimmed into one film. So far the Alien franchise has kept me hanging with small scenes that are striking and grabbing but most of it felt much too long. It did add some small elements of much needed lore but it was too minimal compared to the length of the film.

Godzilla × Kong: The New Empire 2024
You don’t go to this movie for the writing, or the story, you go to watch monsters fight on a big screen. and that’s what they delivered on, and the human characters were actually pretty likable too. better pacing and a more fleshed out story arc would have made this nearly perfect as far as monster movies.
