This had no reason being as funny as it was, I was making noises I didn't even know I could make. Billy Wilder was real asfk for ignoring the Hays code. Hot and Hilarious. 10/10

The Birth of a Nation 1915
I've watched this one before, a long time ago but still, but from what I can recall... This is the worst film I have ever seen. I want to say I'm grateful for not being born during such an ugly time but considering the reviews on here, the fact that this is somehow (???) still shown at film school, it's clear we've carried some of that era's ugliness with us into the modern day.

I appreciate the style over substance take found in the original but when the screenplay burdens itself with a load of heavy subjects such as the Holocaust, the German Autumn, and motherhood, a vibe-y approach might cause some problems. Still beautiful and haunting nonetheless.
