While Wheels on Meals has the best single fight scene in any martial arts movie, this is one of the most consistent. The last 15 minutes is a grueling escalation of action, drama and stunts but there are several other standout scenes that could be the main setpiece in a lesser film. Audrey 2 remains an incredible feat of puppetry. Moranis and Greene are wonderful as the leads, to the point where I sort of have to prefer the theatrical ending. Seymour and Audrey's heart-to-heart in the alleyway after she's almost eaten and their subsequent happy ending are quite lovely. The original ending is wonderfully dark but also just drags on and on. Sort of feels the absence of Steve Martin as the sadistic biker dentist, especially after his last scene with masochist Bill Murray and the nitrous gas rig lol

Now, almost 15 years later, I watched the entire original series again and steeled myself to finally watch Fire Walk With Me. By…

A long time ago, I caught the very end of Candyman 3: Day of the Dead on cable. From what I could tell, it was a pretty standard bit of supernatural horror schlock so I didn't really pay the rest of the franchise any mind.

So I went into this with pretty low expectations, despite already believing in the power of Tony Todd as a horror icon. It kinda blew me away. Not a standard boogeyman tale but one of…
