It was a brilliant movie. I just don't think the actor who played the "villain" of the movie was adequately framed in such a way as to show his otherworldly influence over his victims. He really didn't seem to be playing the character who was laid out in the script. This probably lost it a star.

Perhaps i'll change my mind after a second watch.

There’s a mismatch between the script and the director, that’s for damn sure. They’re both wonderful in their own right: Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie, City of Lost Children) and Joss Whedon (Cabin in the Woods, Serenity). The movie clearly has lots of comedic beats that were missed, in part because the director just didn’t speak English. There are some seriously shit choices being made in line delivery that should’ve been left on the cutting room floor.

    Still I really enjoyed this…

Probably one of the best X-Men movies; maybe the best Marvel movie, Logan is beautifully crafted homage to revenge westerns of the past.

In terms of its overall earnestness and sincerity, it’s probably one of the finest superhero movies ever made. Maybe it doesn’t even really belong in the superhero oeuvre.

Very few films and film-makers can achieve such a sympathetic portrayal of an anti-hero.

It belongs aside such movies as Leon: the Professional, Yojimbo, Mad Max, True Grit, and Drive.
