Really liked this! Very multifaceted and well rounded. Irreverent but thoughtful and humanist. Weird but apt Robert Pattinson performance. All the characters were super over the top and super expressive. They landed well and resonated with me.
Some strands felt messy I guess and it doesn’t quite feel spit shined. But that’s okay imo they didn’t matter enough to seriously impede my enjoyment.

Oppenheimer 2023
From an artistic perspective- it’s an immersive and novel way of story telling. Watched this off dispensary edibles and I thought of a thesis idea- we are living in the wake of modernism. Both the film and its ideas grapple with this idea. Man’s hubris etc. etc. Also supah dupah cinematic. I have gripes with the camera cuts in some spots. Editing is Christopher Nolan’s Achilles heel, if I could describe it as that since it doesn’t cause much harm. The scene where they’re discussing locations to drop the bomb feels ham-fisted, but then again the decision itself was ham-fisted. Solid flick. Very good. Much enjoyment.
