An original, unique, wild story with great gore and some heavy undertones. I avoided all marketing for this and WOW am I glad I did. Because of how unpredictable this movie is, I will not say anything more. Go watch it.

I watched this at an advanced screening and the lady next to me asked her husband, “Is he dead?”
This was very entertaining. The problem that all based-on-a-true-story movies have, that there’s a happy ending, is in very unfortunate display here. The visual and score create loads of tension, but in the back of my mind, I knew it was gonna turn out well. While not being a total deal breaker, this definitely kept me from being effectively thrilled.

Halloween 1978
I have no nostalgia and have seen perhaps too many slashers that came out after this to fully appreciate it. Halloween is great, but not perfect. I found the poor acting especially to be annoying. I wish I loved it more and I hope I do upon rewatch. That being said, I can totally see how influential and important it was to horror as a whole.
Also The Thing From Outer Space playing on the tv was very cool.
