    Thought this was excellent. So solid. The tonality was such a constant. Never felt like this missed a beat. I loved the moody color washing and the soundtrack was great as well. Every scene, every moment felt very intentional and synchronized. Just a really smooth sailing action / thriller.

    I’ve seen plenty of the Scary Movie parody films but not once have I seen any of the OG Scream movies. That should be a crime in my 30s. I have to say, I was way more blown away from this than I ever anticipated. 90’s horror that stands the test of time. The gore was believable and grotesque. The sound design was great. Solid acting and convincing roles throughout. The tonality and eerie mood was on point as well.…

    The hardness and softness equally melts your soul into a beautiful puddle. Barry Jenkins came into a coffee shop I worked at in Charleston years ago before I knew the significance of this film. I wish I could go back in time and shake his hand for this moving piece of self discovery. Been a long time coming but I’m glad I can finally knock this one off my list. All 5 stars of course.
