To get the queer friends I was spending New Year's Eve with to watch this film, I gave them the usual flowery elevator pitch about how the film is a woman-directed exploration of the intricacies of friendships between teenage girls.
Halfway though the film one of them turned to me and said "Adan, I'm going to kill you with a fucking rock you could've just said it was gay"
But honestly? I feel like just saying it's gay is underselling…
