well..wtf was that.
this film completely missed the mark on everything it was trying to do and say. And on top of that, to make it a shit musical with songs basically written by a 3rd grader is truly mind blowing.
sure, you could call it an original story (maybe?), but the execution was so poor, and the delivery was borderline offensive. the only redeeming part of the film was Zoe Saldana’s performance. everything else? a total fail.
ok. wow. 3hrs & 35mins + 15min intermission. long but worth it.
what a depressing take on the american dream. the foreshadowing of the upside down statue of liberty- love.
was hard not to sympathize with Toth since the beginning of the film but also felt moments of him playing the victim card a bit too much that i developed a sort of hatred and disappointment towards him.
