Intense, caring, grieving, creative, crazy, deep and crafted masterfully. This film is one of my favorites. It’s just got so much, yet it seems to fly under the radar of many film critics. Check it out. It’s about an Irish family moving to America and a highlight is the child actors. They are so impressive.

Wong Kar Wai’s portrayal of lonliness, passion and especially the mix of the two is alluring in this and fallen angels. It shows behaviors that are not usually talked about but it really captures the weird mannerisms and neurotic personalities of this specific sliver of humanity, passionate passionate people.

I mean I don’t know what I could possibly say about this movie. It’s like one of those things too beautiful and too precious to even joke about, it would be too disrespectful. It’s been a hell of a long time since I have respected something to this extent. I feel like I can’t even say this is one of my favorite movies. It’s not mine, it does not belong to me like other movies. It is something I’d love so much I’d need to set it free.
