On second watch, it is so interesting how a movie can be so laugh out loud funny and tragic at the same time. I rewatched this with my mom (her first time watching) and she said if the last like 30 seconds wasn’t in there, it really wouldn’t have come together which I have to agree with. Crazy how one little scene with minimal dialogue can just hit you like a train emotionally.

I can always tell when adults are about to cry.
In the wake of Anora winning 5 Oscars, 4 of them being to Sean Baker, it propelled me watch another one of his movies, The Florida Project. My god, I’ve never seen such a movie balance itself between being very serious and very light hearted so well.
