Going to have to revise my top 4 after this… Absolutely life affirming stuff. As soon as it’s finished you want to watch it again. Everything from the colours, dialogue, weather etc is intentional. There are hidden Easter eggs everywhere throughout the film. And it’s almost impossible to pinpoint what it’s about because Yi Yi is about everything. It inspires you to be better and to try and see other people’s perspectives, perhaps the back of someone’s head. So warming and thoughtful and kind! What a trip, take me again.
