  Slogged through this one alongside my friend's pod episode.

  Yeah, let's just say I don't think I am, nor have I ever been, the target audience for this. I remember seeing it as kid, and at the time thinking the people in it were aliens, not relatable or similar to anyone I knew, even tangentially, in my universe. I never really thought about this movie ever again - until now.
