A Real Pain 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
A deeply thoughtful, moving and expertly understated film centred on two US Jews grappling with their grandmother's experience of the Holocaust, but also encompassing alienation, addiction, and many other themes. It reminded me of 2024's The Holdovers; it achieved so much more than the cerebral comedy advertised in the trailers. Both Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin are great (as well as the rest of the cast of course!) but the latter stuck out as pulling off a performance of a charming, funny, intelligent but truly broken, lost man. Wonderful film

A stunning film that wowed me. Absolutely fantastic! Paul mcgann and richard e grant have electric chemistry in this film. Such delightful and charming fun, cannot get over grants Hamlet monologue at the end

The Wrong Trousers 1993
Rewatched the classic. The goat. The unbeaten. A true masterpiece and I say that totally honestly. The film is so fun and enjoyable and the design of everything is meticulous. The fight scene on the train is nothing short of extraordinary and is a landmark in clay animation.

Such a fun film. Rian Johnson really makes a riveting mystery story with various twists and turns that keep the audience wanting more. Not the most erodite film but a very enjoyable watch nonetheless.
