A film about how we relegate our suffering through the convenience of modern comfort and create frictionless lives for ourselves because we've all become afraid of conflict and having to deal with the weight of our ultimately meaningless existences. Somewhat ironic then that this felt glossy and emotionally frictionless in exactly that same way. Unmoved.

Yes, looks and sounds great, features some fine performances, even if Adrien Brody's accent appeared to change about 3 times.
It is worth noting that Brady Corbet is not Jewish which the more I reflect on it makes me feel queasy about the way he uses the holocaust as just a narrative device. Apparently his next film is about the Chinese immigrant experience, I suspect that this conversation won't dissappear anytime soon.
