Every single change made to the characters and universe of this series makes no sense and only makes it more unbelievable that they didn't simply translate the story from the first game.
Even if would be considered fan service, simply recreating the cutscene that introduces all the vault hunters at the start of the game, complete with "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked", would be much more interesting than the boring narration we got. Hell, even keeping Marcus' exposition narration…
