Very different than three of the other films of his that I’ve watched recently but once again, Damien Chazelle is able to land this one just fine…
The drama, effects, and score meshed wonderfully and keeps you fully engaged. Good performances as well by Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy who seemed to carry a lot of the emotional weight of the film.
I really enjoyed how this wasn’t just portrayed as the story of an American hero and icon, but a man who underwent unimaginable sacrifices that affected his family in ways we couldn’t possibly understand.
I rated this movie a 4.5 the first time i watched it but have seen it a few times since and somehow continue to love it more and more so here it gets 5 stars.
Easily my favorites performances by both Miles Teller and J.K Simmons as they both play narcissistic assholes who play so well of each other.

Credit to SB for being able to blend so much humor into a film involving characters with so much emotional depth. Between Garnick’s vomiting in the car and all of Igor’s awkward silence moments with ANORA, i found myself laughing throughout.
