While not entirely incompetent, this film runs out of momentum and sputters out pretty bad. The plot was interesting enough to keep my attention for a while, despite the thin characters and Baker’s bland contemporary filmmaking - I kept thinking of Wells and Aftersun and how Baker’s technique just felt like a much less dynamic and interesting imitation of that - with some intrigue and fun performances.
