  I really want to believe that watching a film like this could force someone [who doesn't already] to feel empathy for Palestinians and/or disgust with the Israeli government -- There is some evidence that perspective-taking (as simple as reading and summarizing a Palestinian's statement of their struggles) improves Israelis' attitudes towards Palestinians (e.g., Bruno & Saxe, 2012).   Lots to process here. Revealing of parts of the human psyche that allow history to repeat itself (ignoring, denying, or forcefully forgetting when accepting reality feels unbearable). Can't stop thinking about Rudolph Höss's Balenciaga model daughter being like "if my dad really killed that many Jews, why are there so many alive now taking money from the government?" Horrific but she has to think this way or she'd instantly implode from the shame
