Obsession 1976
Watched on Apple TV
First Brian De Palma film I’ve ever seen. I feel so late to the game. A vertigo remake is really what this film feels like. Seems to be that Hitchcock is his boy. I loved the music in the film, also Bernard Hermann. Didn’t love the kind of tone throughout though, it’s odd seeing a sort of “remake” like this, but what felt off to me was the surreal / real flips he kept spinning on this. Felt like he was playing in the same sandbox as Don’t Look Now, just three years earlier.

No Sudden Move 2021
Watched on HBO Max.

Dazed and Confused 1993
Watched at the Hollywood Theater in Portland.
This may have been the most fun I've had in a theater in a long time. What's not to love about this movie?!?! The soundtrack is incredible, the ensemble cast is so much fun, and so so so many great quotes from this one. God. I wished I'd seen this sooner, but sitting in an audience watching this with a full crowd was so much fun, and feels like the perfect way to…
