  A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master 1988

  A series like this is basically a treadmill, but it's still mildly disappointing to see such a lazy setup used to undo THE DREAM WARRIORS, a fun movie that cinched together the first three movies and provided at least a temporary resolution.

  But Robert Englund is still fun, and there's some good deaths and effects.

  When a filmmaker has no idea what his movie is about and no sense of tone, you get something like this, which feels like about a half dozen different movies depending on the featured location and characters at any given moment. The cast is fine--they deserved better.
