    The Killer

    ★★★½

In what feels like a fairly standard film by Fincher, The Killer never feels like it truly lives up to his filmography when you think of films such as The Social Network or even the likes of Seven. However, there are still a ton of elements here that make for a solid thriller. Michael Fassbender has always delivered fantastic roles and once again he showcases what makes him a great leading man. Even though this is a literal killer we’re…

I understand that this isn’t the most original plot out there. Ghosted doesn’t do much to stand out from this genre, but I won’t deny I had a good enough time with this film. Our two leads are certainly charming and have a lot of time to shine. But the story here is painfully generic and similar to so many other films like this one. Was anything here actually an original idea? I’m not sure everything just seemed like…

Brendan Fraser deserves the Oscar, and if he doesn’t get it I’m going to lose it. The Whale is not the type of film I was expecting, but it’s the film that I think is maybe the most important in recent memory. A story driven with emotion, this film delivers fantastic performances (not just Fraser but the supporting cast as well) and a realistic look at the importance of storytelling. Not all stories have to work for everyone, but…

  • Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

    ★★★★

Puss in Boots is a fun and lively character who always deserved better for most people. The Last Wish is exactly what they desire. A fun, colourful and exhilirating adventure that teaches the lesson of learning to love life and accept it for what it is. On top of that, you simply have some fantastic choreography and action sequences to round it up. The villains are certainly hit or miss for me, as some worked and others didn't. But it still remains a solid entry in this franchise, and an enjoyable animated experience.
