Many things have been said about this film, but what I really liked the most was its depiction of social crises and how they, as they worsen, ultimately ferment class consciousness and by extension, resistance. As the film progresses, the ruthlessness of the regime intensifies, and we are able to witness the characters’ gradual shift in their politics, how they evolved from passive spectators to active participants in the struggle, one way or another.
