Damn that was fucked up dude you’d expect a movie about clowns to be funny I guess but wow that was fucked, post war italy I guess

Each character kinda seemed like an exaggeration of their fatal flaw, zampano being completely masculine to the point of belligerence and incompetence, gelsomina being absolutely stockholms syndrome infantilized by his abuse, the jester violin dude being too obsessed with poking fun at zampano to realize he put himself in danger

    I almost wanna…

Love me some tongue in cheek cracker on cracker violence via stereotype, dare I say Fellini was the best at said squabbling

Toby was just as confused as me the entire time, I haven’t even read the short story yet so like damn that shit made no god damn sense but like the first 10 mins were such an intense audiovisual experience I don’t think I’ve really even processed the beauty of it fully

    I think italy was Dante’s inferno…

This is the saddest film of all time, never met any two characters so lost, that movie is so imaginative yet so dull in the most beautiful way, it’s just a fucking metal aquatic landslide of eternal tear drops, just pouring all over every time they live every time a moment passes it’s depth just evaporates and pours again I guess until he breaks it, he breaks the fuckin traversal of nothing  and nothing really comes of it???? Can they ever know just let them know idk it’s hopeless but beautiful at the same time maybe, ultimately a depressing experience but what imaginative depression fuck you
