Wow! Had no expectations going into this, but I love a 1 hr 30 min heavy hitting movie. First off, bravo to the main actress in this. She was incredible. The pacing was cool, and the hopping from back to forth within the story gave you all the info you needed at the time you were watching. The only hunch is that there was a car dialogue scene that was dragged out and really not holding my attention.

I thought this movie was very predictable and safe to some extent, but you can’t hate on predictably if it delivers. it had stereotypical characters, but they all had a purpose and enhanced the story. The stakes were certainly there. Each interaction with a tornado was different too, which is something I was worried about going into it. Not an unforgettable movie, but definitely a solid film.

    Overall, good movie!

One of my favorites movies I’ve seen this year. It’s not too ling so it didn’t feel like a huge commitment watching it, but once you’re in the middle of the movie you’re so devoted to the story. This crazy story had the potential for a perfect adapted screenplay, and the Coen brothers delivered. Well done!!

This is one of the best ideas for a movie ever! And it delivered! I was most shocked by seeing Jim Carey play a character like Joel. Such an internalized, deep, and vulnerable performance by him. It blew me away, and Kate was just as stunning. There were some cuts that made the timeline of the movie hard to understand, but for how hard it is to convey the plot in this movie, they did a great job.
