  Absolutely impossible to go wrong in a joining of Jacques Demy and Michel Legrand. A gorgeously coloured, impeccably dressed tragic love story with vivid and perfectly painted backgrounds.

  Entirely sung through and therefore lacking the bigger numbers of The Young Girls of Rochefort, Umbrellas is much more somber, quiet and much more unorthodox in the conversation of classic musicals. I do definitely prefer the brighter tone and more bombastic songs to the sung…
