Cape Fear 1991
Loved the intersectionality of the themes with the theme of loss and suffering being intertwined with constant religious references and justice
Why are you letting your drama teacher put his fingers in your mouth after you just met him!!! Girl pls
I would say it’s just a bit archaic in its writing of female characters, the mother and the daughters plot line were a bit underdeveloped for my taste, they were just the sobbing maidens when there was grounds for the daughter to be a fully fleshed out character, idk how but there was grounds.
All in all not bad

The 400 Blows 1959
There’s a subtle warmth to Francois Truffaut’s 400 blows, I feel it’s that nostalgic angst we all can connect with stemming from our childhood.
The innate feeling of wanting to rush life and be a real human being and not be reprimanded by adults is a feeling we’ve all felt and that’s what makes this movie so raw and human, the intergenerational lessons that are passed down.
I loved the character dynamics and build up of the story there wasn’t one moment that made me tired or bored, it still holds up well after all this time.
Thank you la nouvelle vague

Anora 2024
But for my formal review, this movie has quickly become one of my favourite films that I’ve ever watched.

I love how Mikey Madison(Anora)’s character is able to embody the spirit of a young…

Smile 2 2024
Ever so often you find a sequel that’s more terrifying than the original, I hope this film series becomes what Fast & Furios is, it’s truly so much fun!
I love the double meanings in the movies about how a smile is the main motif and how a smile is a sort of mask that’s hiding the trauma inside of you, the demon feeds on trauma like how your mind feeds on trauma and causes the demons to take over your life & vide versa, it’s truly a masterclass in what a horror film series should be
Conjuring can suck it!
