This almost demands multiple watches. The tact with which this allegory is achieved is so rarely experienced in film. Every inch of the frame is dripping with Schoenbrun‘s aura and it is intoxicating. Drawing a line between the dangerous desensitization of media with the battle to be who you are meant to be in spite of a world telling you who you are is as harsh as it is accurate. …

Fantastic Mr. Fox 2009
Jules asked to watch this again today (which I was surprised by). The more I watch this, the more I am convinced this is one of Anderson’s best films. Packed with cinematic details, the images are astounding. Obviously the whole mise en scene is completely controlled and contrived, but regardless he made clay animals evoke human emotions in a way most actual actors cannot.
I also think it is really possible that you just love every Wes Anderson movie more with each subsequent viewing. He builds worlds worth exploring.
