    A good culmination of nostalgic 80’s horror and modern cinematography – but the storyline and the characters fell kind of flat. I found myself more intrigued by the appearances who only lasted a few fleeting minutes on screen, but at least the scenes were very true to their time and an accurate representation of the era. Ti West had the right idea, but it seemed as though this one was just executed poorly and somewhat rushed so that the “I will not accept a life I do not deserve” hype was still big enough for the movie to be highly anticipated.

    Okay – I did enjoy this movie, but I left the theater feeling like something was missing.
    I thoroughly enjoyed Rain and Andy’s bond, despite Andy being a synthetic human, and David Jonsson’s acting was incredible. The intensity and stress of every single situation kept me on the edge of my seat, but in a particularly anxiety-inducing way (which isn’t necessarily bad, just emotionally taxing). The special effects were gnarly, and the half-human xenomorph baby was deeply unsettling.
