never thought i’d say this, but damn, willem dafoe
is finealso this all seemed a little bit too familiar and after i realized who sheen’s father is it clicked. some of the shots in this movie are fucking incredible, like the close ups of the eyes, or the scene when dafoe’s character is running for his life while the others watch from up above, i thought these were very striking. overall, great movie, very different yet very similar to apocalypse now, and tbh im not sure which one i liked better. who needs horror movies when you have this???

didn’t understand a word but yk what hell yeah. also i found a version with subtitles right after i finished watching this which was very disappointing bc i really wish i could understand this better, for it was truly beautiful. idrk if subtitles could give me any more context and also i feel like it would take away from the movie’s ambiguity so for now i’ll just sit with what i saw and maybe i’ll watch the subtitled version sometime in the future
