Surprisingly decent.
I wasn’t vibing with this film too much for the better part of the first half, but Sandra finally decided to lock in and had me rooting for her by the end.
Aside from the (mid at best) plot, the film was fantastic visually, and managed to be realistic and quite terrifying in regards to space.
Overall, enjoyed it enough to be above 6/10, although watching it on a bigger screen and with better audio may have helped. (however, I watched interstellar on my laptop and that was a 10, so the rating is (imo) fair)
Initially gave this film a 2/10 but on rewatch 5 years later it was more enjoyable. I found the same fatigue watching it, waiting for it to end, that I experienced on first watch; but mostly it was better.

Really powerful film with a good cast of actors early in their careers. You can’t help but love Matthew McConaughey’s character from the start as a confident lawyer with some obvious flaws. The main theme is incredibly powerful, evoking both sympathy and sadness for ‘Carl Lee Hailey’ and his whole family.
