  when her mom says 'i'd give you the skin off my bones' and in the last episode her dad says 'i'd give you the shirt off my back' and they are directly paralleled and it just proves all men ever are bad and maternal relationships are so special and unique and this doesn't really make sense anymore but it was just a beautiful show and would be so fun to analyse. says so much about the failures of the us government and the cyclical nature of poverty and abusive relationships. a rollercoaster to watch.

  i sobbed the entire time. i was expecting it to be like melancholy sad - NOT TRAGIC SAD. despite that, it was such a beautiful movie. i’ve always been obsessed with lucas hedges and this rly added to that obsession. him and casey affleck are so good in this movie. i really really loved it. would 100% watch it 172748391 more times. minus 1/2 point because it was physically painful.

  wasnt a fan of natalie portman in this but I did love the overall movie. very feel good and sweet while still being meaningful and having depth and complexity. EXCELLENT score. i love the shins and any movie that plays iron&wine i automatically love.
