one of the most disturbing films i’ve ever seen, you see the boy’s face break and distort as time elapses and the events unfold. a highly accurate and poignant representation of the horrors of war.
equally beautiful cinematography wise and harrowing plot wise. the suspense is built perfectly, the last third of the film gives wake to the crescendo of destruction and abhorrence that was bubbling under the surface building up to it. truly grim but always one of my favourites.
not sure how to review this because i can’t exactly say i had fun watching it; however, i was on edge the whole time and the music before and during *that* scene succeeded in nauseating me.
