This movie. Oh my god. It's gorgeous, dour, pensive, witty. It's enthralling. Magic seems to ooze from every seam, every crevice, every crumbling ruin. The scoring is almost funerary, matching the ethereal veil lain heavy over the rest of the movie perfectly. Every scene seems dedicated to proving that Gawain is already dead, that he already dove into his grave the moment he first lifted the sword to strike.
