A Complete Unknown 2024
I went into this expecting nothing… but was pleasantly surprised. An honest snapshot of Dylan’s rise to fame, rather than smashing his entire existence into one film- I appreciated that. I didn’t think I would believe Chalamet, but he nailed it. Literally.

beautiful cinematography. visually satisfying shots that lean into complete darkness, leaving you to hyper focus on the incredible & VERY unsettling sound design. however, did I feel like there was a ton of depth in this retelling? no. entertaining by way of blood and some scares? yes. great performances by everyone & magnificent costume design. but, I was hoping for yet another retelling of this story to really push the envelope and provide some deeper context. in that way maybe it fell short for me, but at face value, very well done!
