    A cautionary tale of why we should never go back to the town where we grew up.

    This is the kind of film where you are desperate to cling to a character as some sort of moral compass… and can’t. Towards the end of the film there is a type of resolution that leaves the viewer wondering if anything will ever change or if simply a new generation of desperate confusion has been brought into the world.

    Two for the price of one classic. Pacino and De Niro team up in this fast paced drama with pretty much everything you could ever want from a Bank Heist movie. High powered guns, explosions, car chases, complex characters…. This flick has it all.

    Only thing i dont like… is the camera work. ZOOM OUT for gods sake!!! I know Mann thinks he is being clever by doing this but i found it amazingly annoying. Why would you try to squeeze such a huge film into such a small frame. I hate this choice.

    Did i miss something? I feel like i need to watch this film again to better understand what the message is?

    The acting was superb. The cinematography, wardrobe and set design was all so elegant… but the story.

    I just don't understand what i am supposed to take away from this film other than there are some people with really strange and neurotic relationships in this world… which i already knew.
