Monsters University 2013
Definitely a good movie, but doesn’t carry the same emotional/nostalgic feel for me. Knowing Mike and Sully’s origin is fun and interesting, but was it necessary?

Cars 3 2017
Pixar definitely redeemed itself a little bit with Cars 3, but it certainly wasn’t a blowout. I do like the concept that they decided to explore in this final (?) installment, and they did it pretty well.
The thing I love most about this movie is how much more we learn about Doc Hudson. The ending is very predictable for that reason. I wasn’t super attached to any of the characters, which is something that I always look for in Pixar movies.

Soul 2020
Overall, solid movie. I was expecting for it to be a tear-jerker, but I surprisingly didn’t have a super strong emotional response to the resolution. The most impressive part of the film was the animation (especially in the Great Before). I laughed a decent amount, and the story went in a completely different direction than I expected, which I appreciated. I would watch it again in a few months or so, but I don’t think it would make my top 5, or even my top 10 Pixar films.
