I’ve been sleeping on writing something about it for a while, mostly being indecisive about the whole thing, but now I’ve decided to do it. I think that’s partly why films feel somewhat magical, and certainly enduring. It’s not just imagery. It’s more than that. They stir something in you. Glorious! But... I felt what could have potentially made it better was improving the fluidity of the first half—the sequencing was a bit abrupt, likely due to the need to quickly bring the viewer up to speed with Napoleon’s rise and character. I’m not quite sure how this could have been managed though. Also, maybe it’s just me, but I think soundtracks are crucial especially for a project of this magnitude. A grand and haunting soundtrack would, at least, give a dissatisfied viewer something to walk away with.

I profess my Napoleon's ignorance, and even If I weren't, historical accuracies were never a criterion of mine.
